Ed White, is known as having passion for both art and sports. Football was his sport - a means of expressing himself through quick thinking, and animalistic instincts. This raw expression was counterbalanced by his love of the arts. He played nine seasons as an All-Pro offensive guard for the Vikings, playing in four Super Bowls and then continued his career with the San Diego Chargers as a Pro-Bowl player for eight more seasons. He then coached for the Chargers, the Rams, Cal UC Berkeley, and San Diego State.
Ed then concentrated on his artistic side, and has been commissioned to do many bronze sculptures, including: John Madden's All-Pro Team, San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame, San Diego State Hall of Fame, University of San Diego Hall of Fame, San Diego Entertainer of the Year, Hall of Champions Ernie Wright Award, "On the Line" Nike Award, as well as many others.
Ed is now concentrating on his painting, which derives its inspiration from his life's experiences. His Grid Iron Warriors collection captures his inside views of the game of football, while his Harbor Collection has been inspired by his time spent by the waterfront as an avid sailor and his playful energy comes out in his abstract works.
